Question:
After visiting with O and R along with Mr. Rozens we were unable to connect a new drive to their Windows 2025 server. We get a message for invalid credentials when trying to connect to their server. When inspecting the server configuration we found that they do not have permissions set to everyone for any "anonymous users" trying to logon. The fact that they are using no password also adds to the issue. We believe the issue being with multiple possible settings on his server causing the issue. Josh Oswalt the president is uncomfortable opening up permissions and or making certain changes.
Answer:
Hello Tim,
Below are screen shots on proper permissions to connect
using a domain level account.
These will need set in server manager and file explorer to
work.
We have tested this working in the lab today.

When
mapping the drive be sure to use the IP address of the server share to bypass
any DNS issues.
Be sure
to connect using different credentials.
Also be
sure to put the domain name before the username and use the password set in AD.

Also note that the server needs connected to the correct
subnet the machine is on to connect.
This would be if a company segments the network using
multiple switches.
