SQL Server Service will not start due to Log file error

the sql server service would not start. It had an issue connecting to the log file on the database.
This command would start the service in single user mode and only the master DB while using the directory provided for the log file. This worked. Ryan pointed the log file to this location and it all came up after restarting the server.
sqlservr.exe -c -f -e C:\temp\sql_startup
